All About God

Follow along with this sermon series from June of 2019 to better educate yourself on the God of the universe and learn more about Him.

June 2: "God is One" by Kyle McClain

God is one!  This is such an important truth about God to understand and it's simple.  Deuteronomy 6:4 clearly demonstrates this.  There is no being who is equal with God; He is one of a kind.

June 9: "God's Attributes" by Kyle McClain

The first step in a relationship is getting to know the other person.  The same applies to God - we should be getting to know Him and learning more about His character.  In Exodus 34:5-7, God lists the following eight attributes describing Himself:

1. Compassionate
2. Gracious
3. Slow to Anger
4. Abounding in Love
5. Abounding in Faithfulness
6. Maintaining Love
7. Forgiving Wickedness, Rebellion and Sin
8. Does Not Leave the Guilty Unpunished

June 16: "Personal" by Kyle McClain

God is not a name, but a title.  The God that created the universe has a personal name and wants to have a personal relationship with you as well!  Jesus focused on God as a personal God and taught others to do the same.

June 23: "Creator" by Kyle McClain

Genesis 1:1 declares that God made the heavens and the earth.  The magnificence of creation is breathtaking.  We may be just a small, small part of this but the same God that created the universe desires a personal relationship with us!

June 30: "We Are Children of God" by Kyle McClain

Everyone has sin and evil desires (Romans 3:23, James 1:14), yet we are not identified by our sin, but as children of God.  1 John 3:1-10 shows that we are sanctified, set apart as children of God.  We're not sinless but we need to sin less in order to be righteous and free from our former identities.
